Barrett Business Services, Inc. Announces Appointment of Vice President

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Barrett Business Services, Inc.

(Nasdaq: BBSI) announced today that it has appointed K. Risa Olsen as Vice

President. Ms. Olsen was most recently the Company's National Accounts

Manager, with additional managerial responsibilities for employee benefits

administration.

Ms. Olsen was previously employed by Barrett from 1976 to 1981. She

rejoined the Company in April 1996 after several years with The John H.

Harland Co. and The Worth Collection Ltd. in various managerial positions.

Barrett Business Services, Inc. is a human resource management company

with offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Arizona, Maryland and

Delaware. Barrett reported revenues of $179.8 million and net income of

$4.1 million for 1995.
