Barrett Business Services, Inc. Announces Acquisition of Cascade Technical Staffing

PORTLAND, Ore., Aug 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Barrett Business Services, Inc.

(Nasdaq: BBSI) reported today that it has acquired certain assets of Cascade

Technical Staffing. The all-cash purchase is effective August 26, 1996.

Cascade, with 1996 revenues estimated to be approximately $2.5 million,

provides technical and light industrial staffing services primarily in the

electronics industry through its Beaverton, Oregon office.

Commenting on the acquisition, William W. Sherertz, Barrett's President

and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are pleased with the opportunities
